D’Agostino and Shaw Win Ivy League Cross Country Titles

Dartmouth Indians had an impressive showing in the brutal conditions this past Saturday at the Ivy League Heptagonal Championship at Princeton.  The dynamic duo of sophomore Abbey D’Agostino and senior Ethan Shaw both placed first individually in their races.  With a six-kilometer course time of 21:58, D’Agostino helped the Indians place fifth overall.  D’Agostino, who was injured most of her freshman year, is the Indians’ first female champion in fourteen years.  Shaw completed the eight-kilometer course in 24:47.6, outkicking Columbia runner Kyle Merber by one-hundredth of a second in the last few meters.  The men’s team placed third.  

The conditions were brutal, with ice crystallizing on the runners’ clothing, as you can see here
