Crackdown on Greek Life

Earlier this summer, the administration appointed a new director of Greek Letter Organizations and Societies (GLOS). In his first major move as director, Wes Schaub is taking dead-aim at several long-standing traditions in Greek life at Dartmouth. This fall, GLOS has already met or will meet with every house on campus to discuss hazing. In particular, the visible signatures of many houses have come under intense scrutiny.

This means AXA’s sirens, Chi Gam’s signs, Psi U’s workman’s outfit, AD’s lunch boxes, Sigma Delta’s pledge packs, etc., are likely to be outlawed permanently. Needless to say, however, Greek organizations are not going to surrender lightly (and they should not). Expect more in this regard in the coming days.
