As a “victim” of the River Prowler I felt it appropriate to post the warning sent out by Safety and Security of a spike in “suspicious behavior” at Dartmouth.

Dartmouth Safety and Security Alert

The Department of safety and Security and the Hanover Police are investigating 3 incidents of suspicious behavior occurring near or on the campus.

On Monday afternoon January 2 two female students were approached on South Main St. in Hanover by a male who engaged them in an inappropriate conversation. The women called Hanover Police who responded but the suspect had left the area.

On Wednesday afternoon and Thursday morning students reported that a male acting suspiciously appeared to be looking into the rear lower level windows of residence halls in the River Cluster. In both cases Safety and Security and Hanover Police responded and searched the area. No suspect was located in either incident.

The suspect is described as being a white male in his early to mid twenties, 5′-09″ to 6′-0″ in height, with slender build and short dark hair. It is unknown at this time if the incidents are related.

Safety and Security has increased patrols on campus and around the residential areas.

Dartmouth Safety and Security encourages anyone having any information on any of these incidents or witnessing suspicious behavior to call Dartmouth Safety and Security at 646-4000 or Hanover Police at 643-2222.
