“You need to work out more, Dave.”

“I’m sorry, I’m afraid I can’t update your Facebook, Dave.”

Well, all of those luddites out there have one more reason to lose sleep. Dartmouth’s own Hong Lu has created a smartphone app called Jigsaw. According to the Times of India, Jigsaw can monitor your life; it can track you by GPS, monitor your phone’s mic, etc. Basically, the app is capable of recognizing patterns of activity. This sort of thing can be quite handy for a doctor who wants to determine the amount of physical activity you undertake or for updating your Facebook status.

It’s a pretty cool idea in theory, though it’s hardly the beginnings of Skynet.
