The men’s hockey team lost 3-2 in overtime against Vermont, tying up the ECAC quarterfinals at one game apiece. The decisive game three is tomorrow in Burlington.
The Indians trailed 2-0 early, but came back to tie with goals by freshmen David Jones, in the second period, and Nick Johnson, in the third. Jones scored seven minutes into the second period, and Johnson with eight minutes left in regulation. Dan Yacey stopped 32 shots for Dartmouth, including 12 in the second period, when Dartmouth managed only three shots. Vermont also out-shot the Indians, seven to four, in the overtime period, and 35 to 26 overall.
