Rewriting History from the Government Department

Professor Michael Herron of the Government department, the bane of many a math-illiterate government major required to take his introductory statistics class, has been working since January on the Democratic National Committee’s Ohio Election Review Team to investigate “what went wrong in the Ohio election process.”

Herron has previously published work in the American Political Science Review (Dec. 2001, “The Butterfly Did It: The Aberrant Vote for Buchanan in Palm Beach County”) with his fellow DNC-friendly academics claiming that buttefly ballots caused Al Gore to lose the 2000 election.

Given Bush’s 119,000-vote margin in Ohio in 2004, it may be slightly more difficult for Herron & co. to claim that Bush stole the election, but where there’s a will, there’s a way.
