Dragging Dartmouth ‘Backwards?’

Chien Wen Kung ’04 comments on his support for independent alumni Trustee candidates Peter Robinson ’79 and Todd Zywicki ’88. He attacks one of the more tired accusations their opponents level at them, that they will undo all that is good at Dartmouth:

Electing them in no way guarantees that liberal-progressive viewpoints will fail or that conservative-libertarian viewspoints will dominate. It should ensure that disgruntled alumni (I’m not one of them, by the way) have trustees who’ll listen to their criticisms.

That their opponents feel the need to frame them as “destructive” and “highly damaging” to the College speaks to how afraid they are that the reformers might win.
